We exist to shine the light of Jesus Christ on the Eastside of Austin
We exist to shine the light of Jesus here on the Eastside. We long to see lives changed, relationships restored, and leaders developed for the glory of God, and we commit ourselves to worshiping, belonging, serving, and making disciples as we pursue this vision. We have been blessed to be a blessing — to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to our neighbors in word and deed. We believe that the ultimate good of all people is seeing and savoring the glory of God, and showing His glory to others. We long for the day when the whole earth is filled with the knowledge of God in truth, beauty, and splendor. We hope to see this happen, from one degree of glory to the next, in our own community — we aim to do this by worshipping God, belonging to Him and to one another, serving our community, and making disciples of Jesus.
Our Values
WORSHIP
We worship our God and Savior, who is worthy of all worship. We want worship and devotion to be a central characteristic of our lives, so we gather on Sundays for worship. The purpose of our Sunday gatherings is to worship and glorify God, as well as build one another up in Christ so that we might worship God in our individual lives from Monday through Saturday.
BELONG
We belong to God who has adopted us and incorporated us into His family, and so we live as family members who belong to one another. Our church is a local expression of that family here in our corner of East Austin. We do this by living life together — gathering in each other’s homes, sharing meals, praying and studying the Bible, and supporting one another.
SERVE
We have been given an example by Jesus to serve one another, so we use the gifts and skills which God has given us to serve our community, our neighborhood, and our city. We want our church to be built up in love, and our neighbors to be cared for in Jesus’ name. We seek to grow and mature in Christ so we might be equipped to serve one another.
DISCIPLE
We are disciples of Jesus who are sent to make disciples of Jesus. Discipleship is all about Jesus and His gospel. Therefore, our chief concern is that our people are pursuing and finding spiritual maturity in Christ; that their lives are marked by a progressive transformation into the image of Christ, and an increase of love for their Lord and Savior.
