In the beginning, God created us in his image to worship him, to belong to him and others in community, to serve with our strength for the good of others where he's placed us, and to be fruitful and multiply and make disciples throughout the whole earth—this is what we find in Genesis 1-2, the first few chapters of the Bible. This is who God created us to be (our identity) and what he created us to do (our purpose). In Genesis 3 we see that humanity sinned against God. All of us have a sinful nature, and are guilty of sin, deserving of judgment. We need to be saved and renewed by God’s grace if we want to truly live as we are meant to live. Jesus Christ offers us salvation as a free gift, through his own death on the cross in our place. He rose from the dead, offers us eternal life, and fills us with his Spirit so that we can truly live out our identity and purpose by the grace of God for the glory of God. This is our story!
